Day 5 is either a god send or torture today… it’s TIME TRIAL DAY!!!
Whilst today is much shorter than the other days at only 18.3 km’s long it’s about speed and the trail is technical
Riders will be released in small timed intervals.
There are some punchy climbs and some awesome descents. The longest descent being 4 km’s
After a bus ride, they’ll be in Squamish sitting under the shadow of the Stawamus Chief, which towers over 700 m (2,297 ft) above the waters of nearby Howe Sound. It i soften claimed to the the ‘second largest granite monolith in the world!’
For those that know Rob well you will know how much he LOVES swimming – or not – there is also a pool available nearby for if the urge takes him… somehow I don’t think he’ll be rushing there any time soon!
Here are some piccies from the huge day yesterday…
The Big Mother Truckers… this is how their bikes get transported every day! These things are beasts!
At the feed station…. so many people!
Mr G can literally sleep anywhere! I don’t know how he does it… was he mid sentence Tom?
The number plates there say it all, it certainly is a beautiful place… I cannot wait to go again (wink wink nudge nudge Mr G!)
